Fine art boudoir photography in Newcastle

fOR WOMEN BY WOMEN

Maybe you’re getting married.
Maybe you just had a baby.
Maybe you’re unravelling.
Or reconnecting.
Or remembering.

You don’t need a milestone to claim this space. Sometimes, being here is the milestone.

This isn’t just about photographs.
It’s about showing up — for the first time or the first time in a long time —
as the woman underneath it all.

No clichés. No filter.
Just raw, reverent, editorial portraits that feel like truth.

The Experience:

Before You Arrive

You’ll receive gentle guidance (not a rulebook) to prepare —
something intentional to spark that magic inside you,
a choice to write yourself a note, or one for the next woman,
a slow shift from planning to presence.
The experience begins long before the first click of the camera.

In the Studio

There is no rush.
Hair, makeup, and that warm drink in hand.
We talk. We breathe. We choose the pieces that feel most like you —
silk, lace, nothing at all.
I guide you, softly. No stiff poses.
Just presence.

After the Shutter

I hope you’ll feel different — like something unlocked, or at least… home.
Soon after, your gallery arrives.
And it’s not just images.
It’s proof.
You were there. You are her.
And now, you’ll never forget.

why Solace Feels Different

Other studios give you photos.
We give you a soul memory.

This isn’t boudoir for the male gaze.
This is a portrait for the part of you that’s been waiting to be seen.

Solace isn’t for show.
It’s not for performance.
It’s not about fitting into someone else’s idea of you.

This is for the bride who’s been planning for her day for everyone but also wants to recognise this moment for herself.
The mother rediscovering her body after it’s been shared, stretched, and softened.
The woman leaving something behind.
The woman stepping into something entirely new.
And the one who can’t explain why she’s here — only that she needs to be.

This is a boudoir session built for how it feels, not just how it looks.

You won’t walk out with just photos.
You’ll walk out with a memory. A shift. A sense of self you didn’t know you could access.

Solace is photography made for the female gaze — and for the woman who’s ready to be the main character in her own life.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Hopefully, it’s been asked here for you to find, but please touch base if there’s something else you’d like to know.

❓“I’ve never done anything like this. What if I feel awkward?”

That’s more common than you think — and completely okay.
Solace is designed for women who aren’t used to being the ones in front of the lens. You don’t have to know how to pose or perform. You just have to show up. I’ll guide you gently, with small movements and simple directions. The awkwardness fades — I promise.

❓“Do I have to wear lingerie?”

Not at all.
Some women wear a silk slip or a favourite singlet/sweater. Some bring a wedding veil or a cotton robe. Some choose to be photographed without anything at all — just soft light and bare skin.
This isn’t about what you wear. It’s about what you feel most yourself in.

❓“Is this just for brides?”

Not even close.
I do photograph brides, yes — but also mothers, women in midlife, women healing after heartbreak, and women who are simply curious. You don’t need a milestone to claim this space. Sometimes, being here is the milestone.

❓“Can I use my wedding trial hair and makeup for this?”

I lovingly ask you not to.
And here’s why:
Wedding trial hair and makeup is often designed with someone else in mind — the dress, the aisle, the audience, the weather.

Solace sessions are different.
This moment is about you, not the event.
Our in-studio artists work to enhance what’s already there — a look that’s stripped back just enough to feel intimate, glowy, real.
It’s about meeting yourself in the mirror and recognising her.

Trust us — you’ll look and feel like you, only more grounded, more luminous, more free.

The Questions Most Studios Skip

❓“Can I do this even if I don’t know why I want to?”

That’s actually one of the best reasons to do it.
You don’t need a milestone. You don’t need a ‘why’. You just need the pull.
Sometimes we’re guided to experiences we don’t fully understand yet — because something in us knows.

Solace was made for the woman who finds herself here and thinks,
“I’m not sure what this is, but I think I need it.”

❓“Will my stretch marks / scars / soft belly show?”

Only if you want them to.
Every session is collaborative — and I’ll guide you in poses and angles that honour your body while celebrating your comfort.

❓“I don’t feel confident in my body. Should I wait until I do?”

No.
Please don’t wait.
Confidence doesn’t come before the session — it often arrives during it.
This is the space where you get to feel proud of your softness, your shape, your story. It’s not about changing anything. It’s about meeting yourself exactly where you are, and seeing how powerful that can be.

❓“Will my images be shared publicly?”

Only if you want them to be.
Every client is given full control over how (or if) their images are shared.
Some women choose complete privacy. Some say yes to a few favourites. Some choose to stay anonymous. There’s no pressure — ever. This experience is yours.

❓“What if I cry?”

You won’t be the first.
This is an emotional space. You’re not just being photographed — you’re being witnessed.
Tears, laughter, silence — it’s all welcome here. There’s no right way to feel.

❓“How do I book?”

Start with the contact form — or send a message with your curiosity.
There’s no pressure to commit before you’re ready. Once we’ve connected, you’ll receive a guide with everything you need to know — including pricing, preparation, and next steps

❓“I’m transgender — is this space for me?”

Yes. Always.
If you identify as a woman, or you’re on your own journey with femininity,
this space was made with you in mind.

Solace is built on respect, softness, and reverence for the body you live in — however it has evolved, however you express it.
Come exactly as you are. There is space for you here.

❓“What if I want to lose weight first?”

You’re not alone in thinking that.
But here’s the truth: You don’t need to become anything before you arrive here.
You already are.

Solace doesn’t ask you to shrink, fix, hide, or wait.
It asks you to show up.
As you are. Today.

Because when you look back, I want you to remember this version of you —
the one who showed up anyway.
That’s what makes it powerful.
